It is my hope that this blog will be useful for talking about your experience with the Compact Double tool. I am interested in your observations and your questions. Specifically it would be helpful to know about the vehicles millage, success of the repair, and if any problems were encountered. This information will be useful in assessing informed recommendations for repairs on future vehicles.

The “Compact Double” is a highly effective tool set that increases efficiency exponentially. Requiring initial positioning and then re-positioning only 3 times per bank to replace all valve stem seals is absolutely awesome. That means you spend less time moving tools and more time repairing vehicles. We changed the valve stem seals on the first bank with a special tool set from another supplier that touts valve stem replacement without camshaft removal…long story short, we remove the camshafts. The competitor’s tool required a little over 6 hours to complete Bank 1. The “Compact Double” allowed us to complete Bank 2 in under 2 hours. Highly recommended. Attention shop owners, YOU NEED THIS TOOL!

The compact double is absolutely a must. It is the perfect tool for the job; saving both time and money. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to replace the valve stem seals on their BMW. Thanks Rick!
